Hello, Lovelies!

  Today I only have time to type up an Outfit of the Day, I won't have time to add on to the Femi and Fauna Story for a bit due to work. But hopefully in a few weeks I can continue with it on a regular basis, but for now I think it will have to be every two weeks!

  Anyways, today I worked at my Part-Time job in the Mall, and put together this outfit. 

  The hat that I bought a few days ago in my previous post, black blazer by Willow and Thread, White and Green Filigree Top from Warehouse One, Black Dress Pants from Ricki's, Black Sparkle TOMS and my Mansur Gavriel Lady Bag!

  I find that I have slowly been embracing a more androgynous style as of late, more than the more traditional feminine styles.

"An androgynous person is a female or male who has a high degree of both feminine (expressive) and masculine (instrumental) traits. A feminine individual is ranked high on feminine (expressive) traits and ranked low on masculine (instrumental) traits."

  I don't think that it is a bad thing, it just kind of suits me, and I feel very comfortable in it. I started the morning dressed in an a-line skirt and a v-neck top, but just felt so uncomfortable when I looked in the mirror, so I promptly put my pants back on and went with this look. Which ended up coming together better than the skirt combo did!

   Hello, Lovelies!

    Spring is here and the sun has been starting to shine brightly here in Vancouver, along with its rain... so I started out on a search for a fashion forward but affordable hat!

    So to your left, you will see that I found a great wool fedora by L.A. Express. I have always been a huge fan of fedoras but never felt like they really suited me when I had long hair... I don't know, maybe when I did, I just didn't know how to style it properly.

    This particular hat was purchased at Urban Planet for $24.99, which to me seemed like a great quality for the price that I paid for it. It was thick, structured and didn't flop in front of my face despite the wider brim than what is normally found in a fedora.

    So I decided that I would put together a compilation of some of the hats that I have really liked seeing all over Pinterest and in my random window shopping. I feel like hats are such a necessity in day to day life. Not only can they shield you from the sun and rain, they will immensely help with your facial skin care regiment after all too much sun is not great for the face and over time you can develop sun-spots (dark spots) and it can make your skin more sensitive or make you develop wrinkles and lines earlier than your time! Which no woman wants to deal with earlier than they have to.



    This beautiful Asymetrical Cream Fedora is made by MAGGIE MOWBREY MILLINERY. I love how it arches down from one eye and down. I think that it adds an air of mystery to a woman, where she can be seen from one side but from the other she can choose to not be.

    I have always had this vision in my head that this is what all female detectives in the mystery books I have read would be wearing when they put on a hat. Very classic and stunning.

    This pretty number is designed by BANANA REPUBLIC style: Rivet Straw Hat and retails for $62.00.

    Again I really love structured hats, so you are going to see a lot of them in this post. One of the accents that I really appreciate about this particular one is the black band that pops over the cream.

    Although I LOVE this hat, I know that if you want a straw hat to keep its shape, you MUST store it in a place where it can't get squashed at any point! It is so hard to reshape straw hats!


    I decided to add this cute fedora to my list because of its nautical look! It makes me want to just hang out by the sea!

    This hat is purchasable at SPRING and is called the Foscalina! It is sold at the wonderful price of $17.99. So I think if you are looking something cute and affordable, this could definitely be a great addition to your wardrobe.

 Good Morning, Lovelies,
  As promised, I am doing a full review of the Mansur Gavriel | Lady Bag. I have been waiting for months to get my hands on this beautiful minimalistic bag!  

  Mansur Gavriel was founded by Rachel Mansur and Floriana Gavriel, the two first met at a concert, but they lived quite a distance from one another; Rachel in Los Angeles and Floriana in Berlin. They kept correspondence by email and that is where they first conceived the idea of the brand, and slowly hashed out a concept.
  Now, their brand is one of the hardest handbags to get your hands on, as they RARELY ever go on sale and they keep only a limited inventory of their bags, so when you find one... BUY IT because you never know when they will restock their online shop, or send them out to the vendors who sell them.
  The Lady Bag design, I believe was their second design after the high success of their bucket bags.
  The one that I have is the Vegetable Tanned Black leather, with the Flamme Red matte interior.
  Dimensions: 10.5" H. 13.5" W. 5" D.
  I have always been a huge fan of any bags that have a minimalist design, but still have that flair to them! I mean the interior gives you a pop of color whenever you open the flap! They incorporated the bucket bag drawstring into the bag as well which tightens, then weaves through the top loop and proceed through the loop on the front of the bag, which I have been finding super secure. 
  Nobody can just put their hand into your bag without some effort. Which makes it a great option if you are worried about going out and getting pick-pocketed. You would definitely notice if someone was fidgeting around with it.

  The top handle is a great size if you don't want to have the straps attached. It gives you enough space to pull on your shoulder and dangles very nicely in the crook of your arm  without feeling tight and restricting.
  The cross body strap is beautifully designed with three gold screw looking knobs that help you to adjust just how long you want the bag to dangle. I find that the shortest length works well if you want it to dangle off your shoulder and fall at your waist. 

  The amount of space on the inside also pleasantly surprised me. When the bucket design opens I can fit everything that I need into the bag, including an umbrella for those rainy Vancouver days! I've also had to add in some baby things every once in awhile while going out and had no problem with it feeling too heavy or things being hard to find or grab.
  The things that I like to carry on me at all times (pictured above) is my wallet, phone, iPad Mini 4, notebook, gum, pens, lipsticks, and lipglosses, kleenex, and of course, my keys!
  I was a little worried about how the leather would hold up, but I sprayed it leather protector and it hasn't scuffed yet, which is pretty good for me since I am normally carrying my child, his diaper bag, and my purse all at the same time. So I can't really be over watchful of it every time I go out!

  So my review of the bag is an 8/10 I ABSOLUTELY love it, the only downfall I have had with it is that when I am holding my son or in a rush, the super secure drawstring that I was talking about earlier can be a pain to undo. But overall it really is my dream bag, and I could NOT be happier with it!

 Hello, Lovelies!

  I am so excited today! The reason is because I passed my MOTION PICTURE INDUSTRY ORIENTATION COURSE TEST!

  "What's the big deal?" You might be asking...

  Well as some of you know, I work in the BC Film Industry as a Set Dec Coordinator for full shows and occasionally as a Graphic Artist or Set Dresser for day calls, if they need me. So before I took this test I could only work for NON-UNION shows, which would be explained as a B-Movie, like movies for the Hallmark Channel, the most recent movies I have worked on that I can name is A Christmas Angel, and Love on the Sidelines.

Lunch, When everything else is closed on a Sunday.

  This test was the last step of me being able to apply for Union (ACFC/IASTE 891) Which once accepted into a Union, I could then be hired on for (A) Movie like Deadpool or Captain America, anything that would be seen in theatres or popular TV Series like Once Upon a Time, or Bates Hotel... etc.

  So now I just have to be accepted into a Union! I have currently applied for ACFC and will know the first week of March whether I have been accepted as a permittee member or not! I will also be submitting my application to IATSE as soon as next week.

  Anyways, I passed my test with a score of 48/50, so I can keep my mama proud with keeping my 90% on my first test since high school!

Outfit Shot of the Day!

I will have to admit that the course itself can be repetitive and kind of redundant at times, but I learned a lot and feel even more prepared for my career in film.

  I am incredibly blessed for the start that I had in  the film industry. My Set Decorator and Assistant Set Decorator have been two of the most encouraging people I have met in the industry, they gave me so many great opportunities, believing in me and coaching me! Now I have a great resume to apply to unions with. God has been good!

Hello Lovelies!

  Sorry that I wasn't able to post a blog post earlier today, I had my first day of two for my Film Orientation Course at Langara College.

  I was kind of excited, as I had not been in school in a long time! So it was really interesting to be in a classroom learning again! Maybe I am just a nerd! :D I was always a very scholastic student in high school and constantly made honor role... so maybe the student in me savored the moment a little too much! ^^

  I might have been homeschooled but I still had to compete with the other student in my correspondence school. So thankfully, I have my diploma and everything.

  Anyways, I definitely am looking forward to the last day tomorrow, and trying out a new outfit!

Hello Lovelies!

  I am going to talk about something today, that I was always super self-conscience about... my broad shoulders.

  For YEARS I struggled with figuring out how to dress them, without looking top heavy, and although many people would tell me that it wasn't a huge deal, or they didn't even notice it... I NOTICED it and that was always something that hindered me from pursuing dressing up.

  Now that I am older, I have discovered a few tips and tricks to make my shoulders appear smaller! I would LOVE to share them with you! So without further to do...
